Where can this degree take me?

We have four majors to help you succeed in a variety of organizational settings. Choose from an emphasis in Nonprofit Administration, Marketing, Human Resource Management or Organizational Leadership. Your Business Administration degree will prepare you to:

  • Use your degree to qualify for a variety of positions in management, marketing, and human resources.
  • Cultivate skills to lead organizational change, to chart strategic direction, to manage diverse employees, and to lead effective teams.
  • Learn more about the ethical dimensions of business — to lead with character and wisdom.
  • Springboard into a variety of master’s programs, such as an MBA.

What will I study?

Students pursuing a degree in Business Administration need to complete General Business credits, as well as courses in one of four chosen emphases:

  • Business Core - 36 hours

    BUS 223 Managerial Accounting 3 hours

    BUS 423 Introduction to Management Information Systems 3 hours
    BUS 426 Strategic Planning 3 hours
    BUS 481 Organizational Ethics 3 hours
    COM 210 Business and Professional Communication 3 hours
    PSY 280 Introductory Statistics 3 hours


  • General Education - 33 hours

    (Varies) Biblical Studies / Theology / Lifelong Learning 9 hours
    (Varies) College Writing 6 hours
    (Varies) Humanities 6 hours
    (Varies) Math or Computer Science 3 hours
    (Varies) Science 3 hours
    (Varies) Social Science 6 hours

    These requirements may be met by taking TIU courses (traditional face-to-face, accelerated face-to-face, modular, hybrid, and/or online), though transfer credit, credit for prior college-level learning, or credit by examination. No one course can satisfy two General Education requirements. No more than 9 credits can simultaneously count for both General Education and any major.



Students will choose one of the four emphases below in which to take courses that will supplement the core course that are part of their degree.
